THE RECIPE COLLECTION — DESKTOP APP

Extract this ZIP completely before opening the app. No Python, Node.js, browser or internet installation is required.

Windows: open Recipe Collection.exe inside the extracted folder. Keep the entire folder together. To put it on Desktop, move the entire folder or create a shortcut to the EXE.
Mac: double-click Prepare and Open App.command once inside the extracted folder. This applies a local signature using macOS tools and opens the app. Then move Recipe Collection.app to Applications or Desktop; subsequent launches use the app itself. Use the Apple Silicon download for M-series Macs and Intel download for Intel Macs.
Linux: open recipe-collection in the extracted folder. Keep the entire folder together. It requires a modern desktop Linux with GTK, NSS and Chromium system libraries.

This build is unsigned. Windows or macOS may show a security warning or block it. On Mac, only if you trust this download, use System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway after the first attempted launch. Managed computers may prohibit unsigned apps.

Click the cover arrow to open Contents. Five sample recipes and 100 pages are included. Search, photos, comments, editable saved recipes, extra pages, printing and backups are included. Edits and drafts save automatically to this computer. Click Save recipe to publish a named recipe in Contents.

To bring your recipes from the old HTML organizer: open any recipe, choose Import recipes / old organizer, and select your newest HTML file or JSON backup. Confirm replacement. Export a backup first if you have added anything in this app.

Recipes are saved separately from the app. Moving the app to another computer does not bring recipes: export a backup and import it there. There is no account or automatic cloud sync. See How to use at the end of Contents.

Supported downloads: modern 64-bit Windows, macOS (Intel or Apple Silicon), desktop Linux x64. Not a mobile/Chromebook app. OS compatibility follows bundled Electron runtime.
